5.2.1 Shackle Rating and Factor of Safety

Shackles shall be selected on the basis of the shackle rating being 
in excess of the sling load determined from the factored lift weight
(distributed as described in section 4.0) and the limitations on

should exceed the shackle rating by a factor of safety of at least
