applying what he learned in another important industry. Another has
profoundly changed how he manages several hundred people and he
says that, as a result of the program, he grew in confidence and it gave
him the courage to go for his beliefs. He has done amazing things
which are benefiting large numbers of people and increasing the
flexibility and quality of the service they provide. This is described as
a big success story and it has reached right down manual workers.
He credits it to the program. This alone would make it worthwhile for
me.

Conclusions

It didn't change the corporate culture. How could it if it did not really
the CEO and his closest colleagues who were insufficiently

present? You cannot expect people in a prevailing climate of fear to
significantly influence upward.

For that to happen they need to believe that it is essential and want it.
How do you bring that about? Not, I think, by insistence. People have
to come to it in their own way, at their own pace. You may perhaps
help if you can build a relationship of trust (it is very hard to do that
with some people) but it may result from individual experiences,
reflection, reading, listening and this sort of real time development
program. A big influence sometimes is a person's experience of their
parents. I suspect this applied in this case.

Today's CEO has to move away from patriarchy to something more
like partnership with strong adults, one of whom is leader. Like all the
others, this story is not finished. This CEO gave his gifts and set good
foundations. Another with different gifts, who is better at the more
difficult
