Praise for Madly in Love with ME
“Loving ourselves is one of the most challenging and essential elements of heal-

ing, growth, and transformation. Madly in Love with ME is a passionate call for
each of us to make peace with who we are and love ourselves unconditionally.
As a man, father, and husband, I can think of nothing more important to do for
ourselves, our partners, and our children.”

— Mike Robbins, author of Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Already Taken

“The greatest relationship we have is with ourselves. Christine Arylo brilliantly
shares a pathway for women to fall in love with the essence of who they are.
This book is a great gift to all women and their daughters and dares us to love
with all our hearts.”

— Kristine Carlson, New York Times bestselling author
of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Women
and Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms

“For any woman who wants to love herself, not just in theory but in everyday
life, Christine Arylo has written the go-to guide on self-love. Christine is a
brilliant teacher and catalyst who leaves readers feeling connected and joy-
ful. Fresh, smart, and fun, Madly in Love with ME belongs on every woman’s
nightstand.”

— Amy Ahlers, author of Big Fat Lies Women Tell Themselves

“Self-love served up on a sparkly silver platter? Sign me up for a heaping helping!
While self-love gets a bum rap by those who mistakenly think it’s selfish or nar-
cissistic to love yourself, in Madly in Love with ME, Christine Arylo reframes
self-love as a spiritual practice aimed at increasing your awareness of the divine
spark that lies within us all. By learning to love and accept the true nature of
who you are, radical transformation — and true healing — naturally follows.”

— Lissa Rankin, MD, founder of www.OwningPink.com
and author of Mind Over Medicine

It’s time to pull out the self-judgments
you’ve been stacking up for years in your
closet. Looking back at all the judgments
you found in #4 of the previous ME Mo-
ment (page 145), notice how you have
criticized and blamed yourself for not
doing better. The truth is, while you may

wish things had been different — that you had been smarter, that there
had been someone there to help you or guide you, that you had stood up
for yourself and your needs — you were doing the best you could at the
time. Today you are wiser, so of course you would make different deci-
sions now, likely more self-loving ones. But holding on to what you wish
could have happened does nothing but make you suffer from a lack of
self-forgiveness, just as wishing you could be different from who you are
does nothing but make you suffer from a lack of self-acceptance.

It’s a way more self-loving choice to be compassionate and forgive the
parts of you that suffered because you didn’t have access to the resources,
knowledge, and support you needed, when the decisions you made hurt
you or kept you from going for what your heart really wanted. It’s time to
go back to these parts and pour love all over them!

Daring Act of Love
Write a Love Letter Full of Forgiveness

to Yourself and Deliver It

Grab a pen and some paper and create a sacred space where
you can feel safe while getting intimate with yourself. You are

the person who needs
your forgiveness most is you.

until you forgive yourself, no one
can be fully forgiven.

going to write yourself a love letter, starting with the words “Dear
<<insert your name>>, I am so sorry that...” Look back at each
of the judgments you uncovered, one by one,
and feel yourself back in that moment. Challenge
yourself to go beyond your thoughts about what
happened, and move into the heart of what the
woman or little girl was feeling while this inci-
dent was occurring for her. What did she need
that she didn’t receive? What didn’t she know?
What didn’t she have access to? Write to her as
a compassionate witness, telling her that you are
sorry she didn’t have what she needed. Use your
own words. After you have sufficiently expressed
that, write, “I am so sorry that I wasn’t there to help you. Please
forgive me. I was doing the best I could. I am here now.” Close
your eyes, put your hand on your heart, and feel her forgiveness
coming to you. Feel the two of you meeting as one in your heart.

For an extended visualization of self-forgiveness, one that takes you back
through time to forgive all the ways in which you weren’t there when you
needed yourself the most, go to www.SelfLoveMeditations.com.
