The Witch Hunters have come for Brusenna, for she is the last. All the others have been captured by the Dark Witch. And without their magical songs to control nature, the world is dying.

Though young and untrained, Brusenna must succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find the Dark Witch. Fight her. Defeat her. If Brusenna fails, there will be nothing left to save—for the Witches, for mankind, or for the young Guardian who has committed his life to protecting hers.

Review

Witch Song by Amber Argyle is a beautifully written and bewitching story. This is the type of book that you could easily fall completely into and forget about everything else around you — I know I did!

Amber Arygle created an absolutely stunning world. It was very detailed and so vivid, it wasn’t hard at all imagining it and what it would be like to live there. She also took a unique spin with her version of witches. Instead of potion making or magic wands the witches in this book cast their spells by singing; which I was fascinated by.

Brusenna is sheltered young witch who embarks on a journey to save all the other witches, including her mother, from the evil witch Espen. Even though Brusenna is propelled into a difficult situation and is forced into a savior mode, she is a strong and brave character with a few stubborn moments.

Joshen is Brusenna’s guardian and love interest. We don’t really get to know him that well but I loved their relationship and how it developed throughout the book. I hope we get to learn/read more about Joshen in the next book. Also I m hoping that Argyle does not add the cliche of a love triangle in the mix, it is not needed.

Overall

This book was a great start to what I hope will be one of my favorite paranormal series. I am very much looking forward to reading the next books. I definitely recommend this if you love YA Paranormal!
